Join me as I explore the vibrant streets of Liverpool, a city bursting with culture, history, and warmth. From the soulful sounds of The Beatles to mouthwatering local dishes, here's your guide to a perfect long weekend in this stunning port city.

Liverpool holds a special place in my heart. Every time I visit, I’m greeted with friendly smiles, rich history, and a vibrant energy that’s palpable in the air. In this blog post, I’m excited to share my weekend adventure in this lovely city, making it an ideal destination for your next long weekend getaway!

As I arrived on a sunny Friday afternoon, the iconic waterfront caught my eye. The Albert Dock was my first stop; it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll. I wandered past the historic warehouses, and the sound of seagulls in the background drew me closer to the water's edge. If you love art, don’t miss the Tate Liverpool! The contemporary exhibits are always a treat, and if you’re lucky, you might catch an engaging installation.

For lunch, I headed to the Baltic Market. This hidden gem is a lively food hall with a variety of local vendors. I indulged in a delicious pulled pork sandwich from Meat & Mica. The atmosphere is super cool, often filled with live music and laughter. Grab a drink from one of the quirky bars here, and enjoy your meal at a communal table. Trust me, you’ll want to linger a bit longer as the happy vibes are infectious.

After recharging, I decided to take a Beatles-themed walking tour. As a music buff, I couldn't resist exploring the roots of The Fab Four! Our guide was a true enthusiast and shared countless fascinating stories about their rise to fame. I stood outside the childhood homes of John and Paul, and I could almost hear their melodies floating through the air. If you share my love for music, this tour is a must!

As the sun began to set, the city transformed with its vibrant nightlife. I strolled down Mathew Street, where the legendary Cavern Club is located. Even if you can’t score a ticket for a show, it’s worth popping in for a drink and soaking up the electric atmosphere. Feeling brave? Join the locals for some karaoke in one of the nearby pubs. \n
Saturday was all about exploring, so I hopped on a ferry across the Mersey River. The ferry ride offers stunning views of the Liverpool skyline, and you can’t help but feel like you’re part of something special. Upon landing in the Wirral, I enjoyed a lovely walk along the promenade, where I encountered some charming cafés perfect for a cozy afternoon tea.

For dinner that night, I made my way to The Racquet Club. This restaurant is a beautiful hidden treasure, perfect for a special night out. I savored a plate of liver and bacon with a rich gravy that reminded me of home. Everything was beautifully presented, and the service was impeccable, making it a memorable experience.

On Sunday, I took a leisurely stroll down to the Liverpool One shopping district. If you’re in the mood for retail therapy, this place has it all — from high street shops to designer boutiques, I found plenty of goodies to bring back home.

As my weekend started to wind down, I couldn’t leave without visiting the stunning Liverpool Cathedral. It’s one of the largest cathedrals in the world, with breathtaking architecture. I climbed the tower for a panoramic view of the city, which was truly the cherry on top of my trip.

As I packed my bags, I felt a mix of gratitude and contentment. Liverpool isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience filled with friendly people, rich culture, and fantastic food. Whether you’re a history buff, a music lover, or a foodie, there’s something here for everyone. I can’t wait for my next long weekend in Liverpool — I know there’s still so much more to explore!

Happy travels!
