About UK Map Guide

UK Map Guide is a map of local businesses across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is built for one job: helping you see who is near you, and get in touch with them directly.

A directory you can see

Most directories give you a long list. We put every listing on the map as well, so you can see at a glance which plumbers are on your side of town, which cafés are near the station, or which accountants are a short walk from the office. Search by what you need, choose a category, or tap Near me.

There are 866 businesses listed today, from sole traders and village shops to city-centre firms.

Real businesses, real addresses

Spam listings make directories useless, so every new listing is checked before it appears:

• the owner places their business on the map, and we fill in the town and postcode from that spot;
• the postcode has to be a real UK postcode;
• listings are added from UK internet connections by owners who have confirmed their email address;
• we check for spam, keyword stuffing and duplicates, and a person reviews anything that looks doubtful.

Links to business websites are marked so they pass no search-engine ranking. That removes the reason spammers target directories.

For business owners

A standard listing is free and stays free. It includes your description, contact details, up to five photos, a special offer and your place on the map. If you want more people to find you, a Featured upgrade puts you first in search results, and Premium adds you to the home page. Both run for 30 days with no subscription.
